WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Who can participate/ Applicants 

 

The Erasmus Mundus EMBER is grant programme to carry out academic activities in Third Countries High Education Institutions and in European Higher Education Institutions.

 

In order to be an eligible candidate, the following requirements apply:

 

 

For Third Countries students and staff:                                                                          

 

1. Must be a NATIONAL of one of the third-countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine.

 

2. Belong to the Target Group 1 or Target Group 2 or Target Group 3 (see below Target Group description)

 

3. Must have NOT RESIDED NOR HAVE CARRIED OUT THEIR MAIN ACTIVITY (studies, work, etc) FOR MORE THAN A TOTAL OF   12 MONTHS OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS in any of the EU countries at the time of submitting their application to the partnership. (This rule does not apply to Target group 3 candidates).

 

4. Proof of language level required by the host university.

 

Please note that undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies in their home institution at first higher education level.

 

 

For European students and staff:                                                                                 

 

1. Must be a NATIONAL of the European Union: Estonia, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, and Sweden.

 

2. Must belong to Target Group 1.

 

Please note that undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies in their home institution at first higher education level.

 

3. Must have sufficient knowledge of the language   of the courses or of one of the languages currently spoken in the hosting countries.

 

4. Proof of language level required by the host university.

 

 

Target Group 1 (TG1)

Nationals of the 3rd and EU countries who are registered in one of the universities within the partnership.

Applicants from TG1 may apply for:

Undergraduate
Master
Doctorate
Post-doctorate
Academic or Administrative Staff 

Target Group 2 (TG2)

Nationals of the 3rd countries:
- registered/work in an University that is not included in the partnership but is concerned by the geographical lot

Applicants from TG2 may apply for:

Master
Doctorate
Post-doctorate
Academic or Administrative Staff 

Target Group 3 (TG3)
        
Nationals of the 3rd-countries in particularly vulnerable situations:

- refugee status or asylum beneficiaries

- unjustified expulsion from University (racial, ethnic, religious, political)

- indigenous population, IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons)


Applicants from TG3 may apply for:

Doctorate
Post-doctorate
